Bia Jackson (they/them) is a Southern, Black, queer communications strategist, writer and organizer raised by a single mama on the southside of Richmond, Virginia. As a storyteller, they understand the importance of collective historical memory to apply to present conditions in order to create pathways to an abolitionist future. From Virginia with deep roots in Louisiana, their experience is rooted in Southern grassroots organizing and authentic, community-rooted storytelling. Bia has spent the last 4 years building infrastructure and communications strategy at Southerners On New Ground (SONG). Bia is also an alum of ReFrame’s Mentorship Program. Currently, Bia lives, writes and organizes in Atlanta, GA.
