Vanessa Serna

Vanessa is a long-time digital engagement and communications professional. Her passions are exploring how to build power online more effectively, helping advocates build better relationships with their base, and training the next generation of digital leaders. Throughout her career, she’s balanced big-picture engagement strategy planning, narrative strategy development, and data infrastructure management with day-to-day implementation, experimentation, and project management. She’s successfully supported frontline communities, grassroots groups, unions, worker-organizing groups, and non-profits across the US and Canada in a variety of organizing, campaigning, and digital roles. She’s dedicated to providing movement-wide training on a variety of engagement strategies. She’s originally from Mississauga of New Credit Territory (also known as Toronto, Ontario, Canada) but now lives on Coast Salish Territory in Washington State.</p>
